About Prayer Times

Prayer Times is a simple, free tool that shows accurate daily prayer times for your location, along with the Hijri date and a Qibla direction finder. Open it, allow location (or type your city), and you get today's Fajr, Sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha — plus a countdown to the next prayer.

Why we made it

Prayer time apps often come bundled with ads that get in the way, account signups, or features nobody asked for. We wanted a fast, honest page that answers one question — "when is the next prayer?" — without friction.

Why it's free

Prayer times are computed on your device from public astronomical formulas (via the free Aladhan API data), so our costs are minimal. There's no account system to maintain and no data to monetize. We plan to keep the lights on with a small number of tasteful ads — never by charging worshippers or locking features behind paywalls.

How the times work

• Calculation: times are derived from the sun's position for your coordinates, using widely used conventions for the Fajr and Isha angles.
• Your location: geolocation happens in your browser; we never store your coordinates.
• Hijri calendar & Qibla: included because they're part of the same daily routine — check the date, find the prayer direction.

If the times look off for your area, double-check with your local mosque's timetable — conventions differ by region. Tell us if something's broken and we'll fix it.
